It took me a really long time to finish it but once I really got rolling it made so much sense. The writing of Steinbeck was so beautiful and I found myself reaching for a glass of water with him describing how dry the atmosphere was. It was so hard to get thru in the beginning but once I got to know the characters more I felt more invested and couldn’t put it down. Steinbecks descriptions of everything are so beautifully thought out. I was planning on reading East of Eden next and I can’t wait I’m wondering how it compares if anyone has any experiences with it?
