I’m not a native speaker and also not farmiliar with literary terms in English, so excuse me if the post is confusing.
I’m looking for books with emotional scenes that do not have direct descriptions of emotions. That is, no or very few explicit “\[a character\] feels \[feelings\]” sentences. The emotional scenes are impactful just for them happening at all, or emotions are conveyed via motifs/symbolisms.
Some examples of what I’m looking for (beware of spoilers):
* The Metamorphorsis (Franz Kafka): I liked the final scene where the protagonist crawled out of his room following the sound of the piano, only to see his family fawning over their two tenants.
* Animal Farm (George Orwell): I liked the scene of the mule chasing after the horse when the horse was being sold, and the final scene of the animals looking at the pigs dining with humans.
I’ve read many East Asian books with this writing style, but I want to find similar English literature. Thank you.
