This is the first book of hers I’ve read, and I wanted to love it. I did for the majority of it. But when she reveals the first big twist? It just didn’t make sense to me. The book is written in first person so I went back and reread expecting to find hints, but there was so much evidence pointing to this character’s innocence. It’s as if this character had convinced themselves of their innocence and I hate that McFadden didn’t show this characters true intent in the slightest. I don’t think it’s the “gotcha” she thinks it is.

Read Ward D by her. That one is GOOD! When I listened to it, I had so many ways I thought it would end, and it ended up being none! Really threw me for a loop.
