      Red Notice by Bill Browder

The Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafon

      Sharp Objects by Gillian Flynn

    2. The books that really got me back into reading last year were Miss Peregrines Home for Peculiar Children. Hadn’t read in ages, picked them up and read all six in about two months during finals season lol. I also really love V. E. Schwab books (Addie Larue and Gallant specifically. Some of the young adult true crime books are pretty great, One of Us is Lying and Good Girls Guide to Murder come to mind. Good luck!

    3. Fiction: Blake Crouch’s man-on-the-run sci-fi thriller **Dark Matter**.

Speculative non-fiction: Max Tegmark’s **Life 3.0**. It outlines the spectrum of futures mankind is facing from the ascent of artificial intelligence.

    4. Historical fiction: the forgotten room, by Karen white

      Mystery: anything Lucy foley

General fiction but kind of mystery: strange sally diamond, by Liz nugent

      Non-fiction: bad blood

    5. The Mimicking of Known Successes, by Malka Older.

A cozy sci-fi mystery, sort of a future Holmes and Watson solving a crime on a fog-shrouded alien planet, before returning to their chambers to warm up in front of a fire. Absolutely charming.

And novelette length, so it’s an easy read.

Sorry if it’s cliché but I don’t feel like I’ve ever read a book that I was as addicted to as I was to this one.
But also The Bell Jar! My favorite.
