I’m the oldest son, a father, a brother, uncle, etc, from a big family but grew up without a real father figure. I love nature and such, but two of the last three books I’ve read were written by females and talk a lot about a mothers perspective on communities, life, and general “roles”. The one book I read (Death and Life of the Great Lakes) was written by a man (local to.my area too) but was too clunky and I just didn’t “connect” with him.
I grew up “with lots of estrogen” so im not opposed to female views, but I’m struggling to see myself in the books i read and am a bit confused on how to traverse this world as a “man”. I’ve never been or saught to become a macho person- but I’m finding myself in more situations when I have to take the reigns in life and could use some guidance on stuff.
I’m also native/Mexican if that helps.
