i think she’s honestly a very tragic character and i did despise nelly at some points in the book. i couldn’t help but think her view may have been a tad exaggerated (she LITERALLY mentions that she hated catherine)
but i won’t excuse catherine’s behavior throughout the book, but she was often forced to starve if she didn’t comply or be obedient.
i think this started to play a part in the later parts of the book where catherine would starve herself to prove a point. i do wish they had more scenes for the development of heathcliff and catherine because honestly, i’d get why some people assume it as a romance.
edgar linton has the entirety of my heart though.
wuthering heights is a tragic, extremely violent story.
