I study nature and ecology in college, and one of my favorite parts of franchises such as Star Wars is seeing the different ecosystems and natural landscapes that don’t occur on Earth. There are obviously plenty examples of science fiction and fantasy books that feature other-worldly environments, but can I get any recommendations for books that specifically highlight that?
I really love books with interesting magic systems and world-building, so it would be great to read something that does that with the world’s natural characteristics.

I worry it is a very obvious recommendation but in case you haven’t read it, Annihilation by Jeff Vandermeer.
The City in the Middle of the Night by Charlie Jane Anders might work.
