I am reading Andrew Roberts’s biography *Churchill: Walking With Destiny*, which is exactly what you’re asking for. Churchill was brave, witty, and had a very powerful intellect, and that is all brought out in this book. No one will argue that Winston Churchill was not important for world history, and Roberts does a good job of showing how Churchill prepared himself for that world historical role in his youth.
