I have not read in a very long time and am looking for books that are simple to read with easy language and interesting plots.

Gary Paulsen’s Hatchet series is great for both adults and kids. My son and I took turns reading them aloud to each other.
Something Wicked This Way Comes by Ray Bradbury is wonderful. Actually, any of his books are amazing, but that one is especially creepy. He uses simple language very effectively.
