I recently finished the book “Blind Owl” translated by Sassan Tabatabai and went online to search for its reception (I bought the book on a whim, not knowing anything about it beforehand)
Anyway, after a few scroll, I realized that the flower in the book people are talking about is “morning glory”, not “water lily”. It was a major shock to me as I have been imagining the whole story with the “water lily” image in my head and connecting all its symbolism meanings to the story. I did feel weird that the water lily climb on houses in the book, but assuming the narrator is not trustworthy, I take it as his imagination. I tried to look more into it but sadly “morning glory” seems to appear more frequent than “water lily”. But can such a big mistake passed into publication?

Is this a mistranslation? Version difference? Can someone who have knowledge of the original language explain it to me?
