I am leaving soon for OBX to spend a week or two alone with my dog. I will be working remotely but work is slow and I want to bring multiple books. It’s been a while since I was completely immersed in a good book. I recently tried The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and I can barely make it through the first chapter I’m so massively bored.
I like mysteries/thrillers and fantasy (think Harry Potter, ACOTAR)—my goal is a page turner, something that completely captivates me and gets my mind off my life and onto a different world or story.
I definitely want to avoid any type of romance, particularly unrealistic fairy tale endings, as the big reason for this getaway is to contemplate my marriage and if it should continue.
