I often donate to LFLs in my area, and frequent my local indie bookstore. I’m 99% sure some of the books I’ve dropped off at the LFL are being resold in their store. I know that once I donate the books, they’re out of my hands and people can do what they like with them. However, it gives me kind of a bad taste when I see them making a profit off of something that’s supposed to be free. Any thoughts?

Does the store take donations or do you think the sure sourcing? Maybe try writing ‘Donated to Little Free Library (town), please pass on!’ or something along those lines somewhere noticeable on a page (likeeee copyright page or something?
I mean, I think it would be shitty if someone from the bookstore is scouting the LFLs and sourcing books. But I don’t think they have a responsibility to take books that may have passed through a LFL back to the LFL. In my opinion, the blame falls on whoever took and did not return the book to the LFL.
