i have no idea what these types of books are officially categorized as, but i love nonfiction books that encourage me to learn something.
here’s some of my recent reads for context:
– optimal illusions: the false promise of optimization by coco krume
– the origins of totalitarianism by hannah arendt
– the coddling of the american mind by greg lukianoff and jonathan haidt
– x + y: a mathematician’s manifesto for rethinking gender by eugenia chang
– conservative thought and american constitutionalism since the new deal by johnathan o’neill
– busting the bankers’ club: finance for the rest of us by gerald epstein
– the profit paradox: how thriving firms threaten the future of work by jan eeckhout
– the darkness manifesto by johan eklof
– poverty by america // evicted, both by matthew desmond
i read fiction occasionally but i mostly like these educational types of books. have read most popular ones like the 1619 project and am into history too. any ideas? i’m always looking for more
