I want to gain a more profound understanding of gender and feminist theory, but rather than reading an academic or non-fiction work, I’d like to be educated in a more subtle way. For example, gender or feminism is an interest of the protagonist or is often discussed between the novel’s characters. Not sure if such novels exist, but if anyone has any suggestion, that’d be really helpful!
Conversely, if you perhaps know of a non-fiction book that gives a good overview of the most important gender/feminist theories than that’d be also fine, as long as it is not too dry or too polemic. I don’t want to be lectured, I just as much want to be entertained!
