6 year old only wants to listen to the Penderwicks
I mean, the series is amazing but it’s kind of over her head, but she loves the story telling and the real life situations. Anything else in the “normal life” genre for kids? Saving Anne of GG for when she can read.
Aside from that I’d say just let her listen to them. There’s nothing in there likely to traumatize her, and nothing is better for building a love of reading than giving your kid the power to choose for themselves.

Would she be into Pippi Longstocking?

A few suggestions-
The Moffats (series) by Eleanor Estes
The Saturdays (also a series) by Elizabeth Enright
So many books by Beverley Cleary but in particular the ‘Ramona’ books and ‘Ellen Tebbits’.
Me and Katie the Pest by Anne M Martin
The ‘Fudge’ (series) by Judy Blume (first book is ‘Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing’)

There are the Little House books by Laura Ingalls Wilder.

The Peach series by Erin Soderberg Downing gave me the same vibes as the Pemderwicks. The dad and kids start a food truck and sell pie. There are three books in the series.
