A very specific quality I like in books is when something is explained so throughly that it’s almost boring. If a character is cooking, take me step by step… If it’s a description of someone’s daily life, hour by hour please…
I’m not even sure I’m explaining it properly. I’m thinking of the food descriptions in GOT or the monotony of 112263 in places…
Basically, something to listen to while I fall asleep that won’t give me anxiety or make me want to listen past my timer.

Have you read {{Convenience Store Woman by Sayaka Murata}}? It’s not exactly what you asked about but it was the first book that came to mind when I read your post.
The audiobook of the People’s History of the United States is pretty monotone.
It’s not a task, but there is an incredibly detailed description of whale anatomy in Moby Dick. There’s also a big section in Anna Karenina with a landowner rhapsodizing over how it felt to engage in physical farming work with the tenants/peasants.
