Recommendations for good scary books

I’m almost finished The Shining and I’m impressed- it gives me the shivers! It’s an impressively scary book and am thoroughly enjoying it. I recently read Dan Simmons Hyerion and was intrigued enough to look for “scary” fiction. The Shining is my 2nd Stephen King book (just finished The Stand which was great in it’s own right, but not scary). Can you booklovers recommend truly scary books? Prefer it to be Science Fiction if possible. And please, fiction only- true life is scary enough.
