I’ve been in a bit of a reading slump and haven’t really found anything that’s caught my attention. Any recommendations?
Books I’ve enjoyed recently and why:
• Warm Bodies by Isaac Marion – enjoyed the sci-fi aspect, the internal dilemma the narrator went through, and the unconventional romance
• The Nothing Man by Catherine Ryan Howard – enjoyed the alternating narrative perspective, the unreliable narrator, and how it read like a book within a book
• Anatomy: A Love Story by Dana Schwartz – enjoyed the historical setting, overarching mystery, and romance
• The Last Days of Jack Sparks by Jason Arnopp – enjoyed the supernatural thriller story, unreliable narrator, and “found footage” style of writing
• If We Were Villains by M. L. Rio – enjoyed the mystery and suspense, jumps in timeline, and the theatrical script style of writing
Currently Reading: Annihilation by Jeff VanderMeer
Genres I usually read:
Fantasy, Sci-fi, Romance, Mystery, Thriller
Genres I sometimes read:
Historical fiction, True Crime, Contemporary fiction, Comedy, (Auto)biographies, NA/YA fiction
Genres I never read:
Self-help, History, Spirituality, Erotica
I’m in a pretty deep slump I’m open to any recommendations or hidden gems, especially if it’s not something I’d typically think to read!
