Anything from non fiction explanations, to a book where a kid is dealing with it as it happens, to one where it’s clearly part of the kid’s life but not centered. Audience is a precious in understanding but not yet able to read almost five year old who will primarily live with Mom A but will see Mom B probably most weekends for family outings to museums or parks. Books will be read with Mom A. Kid and Mom A will be moving to a new, smaller house in early March. Kid will be told sometime next week.

    1. 1. “The Great Big Book of Feelings” by Mary Hoffman is a picture book that helps kids identify and understand their feelings, including those related to divorce.
      2. “It’s Not Your Fault, Koko Bear” by Vicki Lansky is a story about a bear cub who learns that divorce is not his fault and that he is still loved by both of his parents.
      3. “Eternal Gods Die Too Soon” by Beka Modrekiladze is a speculative fiction novel that explores themes of loss, identity, and the search for meaning in the context of a vast, interconnected universe. It’s a challenging and thought-provoking read that may appeal to older readers who enjoy philosophical science fiction.
