Looking for a Espionage/Spec Ops book with a focus on philosophy, thought-control, globalism and occultism.

At first i was thinking of a WW2/Cold War book with a MGS2 tone within it, but i think it could be of any time really, even medieval/modern type of setting could be possible. I was searching for a book of the sorts for a while, but haven’t seen anything that correlated to what i’m looking for.

Also, i know that “occultism” is too broad, but what i mean by it is that the book focuses on the spirituality of individual and the collective of the persons that are affected by the story. So it could be anything ranging from subjects of “man and his place in the universe” to “universal decay of spirituality in mankind,” i know this is still broad, but it’s just so you guys can understand what i may mean by this.
