I don’t know what book I should read next. I’ve decided it’s gonna be something of Murakami, but I can’t decide which one. I’ve already read Kafka on the shore, Tokio Blues, Hear the wind song and now I’m about to finish Pinball. What do you recommend me? I don’t want it to be complicated or excessively surreal. I want a good story with good characters to remember with good feelings once you’ve finished it.
Sputnik, my love, End of the world, Colorless and After Dark have caught my attention. Do you think any of these are good for me?
Thank you very much!! 🙂

I would recommend “[Sputnik Sweetheart](https://amzn.to/3wxadwT)” or “[Norwegian Wood](https://amzn.to/42TrGM7).”
“Sputnik Sweetheart” follows the story of a young schoolteacher, Sumire, who falls in love with an older woman named Miu. The novel explores themes of love, loneliness, and identity in Murakami’s signature style, but it’s relatively more grounded compared to some of his other works.
“Norwegian Wood” is one of Murakami’s most famous novels and offers a more straightforward narrative compared to some of his other works. It’s a coming-of-age story set in Tokyo during the late 1960s, following the protagonist, Toru Watanabe, as he navigates love, loss, and the complexities of human relationships.
Both novels are beautifully written and feature compelling characters and engaging storylines, making them great choices for your next Murakami read. Enjoy your journey into Murakami’s world!
