So I recently read Breakfast at Tiffany’s by Truman Capote, and while I didn’t really think the characters themselves were particularly interesting and didn’t care much for the book overall, I did like the concept of it, and I wanted to know if there was something similar. That being, a non-romantic friendship between a guy and a girl, with the story reflecting on their friendship nostalgically, as they eventually went their separate ways in life.
I know that’s absurdly specific, but I find myself occasionally in that mood lately, because I had a pretty decent friend like that who I used to work with, but we didn’t stay in contact long after we both quit, and while I don’t think we’d have much to talk about now, I sometimes miss that, and I’d like a book to scratch that same feeling in some way.
