Like lots of people, I read before I go to bed. In the last year or two I’ve noticed that often in that early, light-sleep stage after I turn off the light, my mind is still working on the story I’ve been reading. I don’t mean analyzing what I’ve already read — I mean almost literally reading what happens next. And it’s not that I fell asleep reading the next section — what I dream is never what actually does come next in the story.
Does anyone else experience this? It’s kind of fun — it’s as if each book has a dream-world corollary.
