Hello everyone. Recently, for some reason, I’ve gotten interested in history. The period that for now I want to learn more about is the 20th century. The last time I opened a history textbook was about six years ago so I want to keep this whole thing simple. I want to learn about the three main conflicts of the 20th century, WW1, WW2 and the Cold War. One book for each of them. I know that that is not enough to cover everything that happened during these wars, but I’m new to this and I want to test the waters first and see how comfortable I am with learning history on my own. Despite that, I would like book that are at least 800-900 pages long. Also, they need to be more about the technical aspects of the war, so stuff like who fought who, when did the battle being and when did it end, how many troops were deployed, the arsenal used etc. I have found some recommendations on the history subreddits but despite the good reviews I’ve also encountered reviews saying that they contain inaccuracies. I’ll list them below, and if you guys have read them please share your thoughts about them and if you think there is better book, please tell me. Thank you!

WW1: A world undone: the story of the Great War (G.J. Meyer)

WW2: The Second World War (Antony Beevor)

The Cold War: The Cold War: a world history (Odd Arne Westad)
