I mostly prefer reading fiction books but lately I’ve been extremely interested in world history. Specifically ancient history, history of religions, Roman history, and historical linguistics, though I’m open to other topics as well. I’m looking for books that may be a little less on the academic side and more structured like a story. Any recommendation are appreciated!

Maybe Erik Larson’s books?
Killers of the Flower Moon is more narrative too
In the realm of historical fiction, not nonfiction, there’s also The Pillars of the Earth books
If you’re into romans with a deep historic background, I suggest reading one of Umberto Eco’s books.
