I’ve been on a big historical fiction kick lately and am looking for your favourite reads in the genre. I don’t have any preferences in terms of time period – just give me the reads you love the most!
Here’s what I’ve already read and loved:
– pillars of the earth by Ken follett
– the power of one by Bryce courtenay
– shogun by James clavell
– the name of the rose by umberto eco
– the first man in Rome by Colleen McCullough
– lonesome dove by Larry McMurtry
– wolf hall by Hilary mantel
– Saxon stories series by Bernard Cornwell (read the first 3 books)
– half of a yellow sun by chimamanda ngozie adichi
– conqueror trilogy by conn iggulden
– the terror by Dan Simmons (I guess more historical horror but I still loved it)
What can you recommend as your favourite historical fiction that’s NOT on the above list?
