Might be a weird ask. I was wondering if you have ever come across a book or series that, by virtue of being so distant from our existence, had totally different ethical and moral standards we strongly uphold today.
I have always believed that most of our worlds constructs were so human made and so time/environment/circumstance dependant that they would never hold universal truths. In a universe where even hard science such as physics is relative, I was wondering if any authors attempted depicting a world where standards were subverted. That does not necessarily mean grim or dark, but herein lies the imagination. I guess this would be sci fi or fantasy but i still wanted to ask the broader book enthusiasts for recommendations.
Thanks

I think Iain Banks’s Culture series might be in the neighborhood of what you’re looking for.
The Dune series.
Warhammer 40k, of course! It has tens of thousands of pages of books set in it.
Thought for the Day: Blessed is the mind too small for doubt.
Embassytown by China Mieville.
