*I know therapy would be best, but I absolutely cannot afford it*
I’m constantly concerned about whether people like me, if I’ve offended someone, how I look, and I’m also preoccupied with believing its my job to help everyone. In general, I worry about people not liking me, and a lot of my unhealthy behaviors revolve around controlling people’s perception of me. (Due to a codependent childhood – and not healthy at all!)
I want to be self-aware and fix it with practical advice from a really good book on the subject. Have any book recommendations for me?

This isn’t a self help book, but I’m reading ‘The Girls’ by Emma Cline right now & it has definitely made me reflect on this quite a bit.
