When I was younger I used to read all the time. I’d come home from school, do my homework and the rip into whatever book I had out from the library at the time. As I got into high school age I mostly stopped reading and devoted my free time to partying/video games and other less than positive activities. The last few years I’ve been putting on audiobooks as I go about my work day and it’s made me miss the days of sitting down with a good book in my hands so I guess I’m here to ask for suggestions. As a child I was very into fantasy and I still am. To give you an idea of my taste I’ll list some of my favorite books and series
The Count Of Monte Cristo. One of the best I’ve ever read and by far my favorite since I’ve been getting back into it
LoTR/The hobbit
Cirque du freak
Fablehaven. Loved it as a kid, saw the flaws as an adult but couldn’t help but love the premise
The rest of what I’ve read are non fiction books/philosophy? like The Hiding Place, Escape From Camp 14, Ordinary Men, Meditations, Tuesdays With Morrie and others.
I’m mainly looking for more fantasy/sci-fi books aimed at a more adult audience since I’ve mainly been revisiting books I loved when I was younger and finding them fun but lacking something I can’t quite place. Any suggestions are appreciated and I apologize for the way too long post
