A month ago, I finished writing a book and published it. It took me six months to write it. I haven’t told many people about my book.

I know you might say that without publicity, the book won’t sell, but whom should I tell? My circle of friends is very small, and those I know aren’t interested in reading such books. Even if they buy it, I don’t think they’ll ever read it. That’s why I don’t pressurize them too much. I just ask them once, and then I don’t insist. And rn I’m not financial stable so that i can spend on advertising.

But I really want people to read my book. If it were up to me, I would give free copies to everyone, but the sad reality is that I can’t.

I’m an engineering student. I haven’t told my dad about my book because I thought he would say, “Focus on your studies, leave all this aside.” So, I only shared it with my mom. However, when my dad found out that I published a book, he was very happy and asked why I didn’t tell him earlier. He bought my book and sent it to me as a gift. I feel so happy that my first sale was made by my dad. 🥹🥹

    1. Maybe a Goodreads giveaway? If I like a book from an unknown author that I got from a giveaway, I recommend it when it feels like it fits what somebody is looking for.
