I’m in a rough patch and having a hard time focusing on lighter content. I’d love recs for:

    * Fiction featuring a character dealing with difficult circumstances, depression, chronic illness, grief, etc. I recently enjoyed *Never Let Me Go*, for instance.
    * Nonfiction ideally featuring the stories of people dealing difficult circumstances (memoir, journalistic, etc.). For instance my last devour was *Nothing to Envy* about the experiences of North Korean defectors. Also looking for books in the vein of *Angela’s Ashes*.

    Really appreciate any recs 🙂

This impossible brightness by Jessica bryant klagmann (themes of grief and death and healing)

This thing between us by Gus Moreno (horror oriented but deals heavy with themes of grief and letting go)
