My husband doesn’t often read novels, but periodically gets the itch. This time the itch seems to be for books in the darker side of fantasy.
He’s looking for recommendations that meet some/all of the following:
\- Minimal plot armor
\- Medium amount of magic (it is used commonly, but is not earth shatteringly powerful)
\- Dark/grim tone
\- Interesting world building
\- Complex characters/morals
\- Not modern (post industrial) setting
