Not in adult/mature category. Plot isn’t important either. I’d like to read descriptive writing and rounded characters with interesting dialogue.
The last book I sort of enjoyed was “the school for good mothers.” I didn’t like the sci-fi parts or most of the story, but it felt really deep when the main character loved her child, ex-husband, new love, etc. I’m not into sex scenes but I can read through them as long as they’re not the main focus
