Of Stephen King’s works I’ve read The Shining, Misery, Cujo, and Pet Semetary (didn’t like Per Semetary). My dad has a copy of both Needful Things and IT. Both seem fairly long and im likely only going to read one.
I have heard that IT is better but the problem is I have seen both movies so I know the plot and spoilers. I have heard Needful Things is less good but I don’t know anything about it so it will be more of a surprise.
Normally seeing the movies wouldn’t stop me from reading a book but IT is really long and I don’t want to read it if im not going to fully enjoy it.
My main question is whether seeing movies would really hurt the book or whether it is still worth reading it over Needful Things. I know Needful Things is supposed to be less good but I don’t know any spoilers about it. Any suggestions on which to read?

the book IT is not like the movies, they cut a LOT and changed a lot, good movies, just not like the book
I don’t think seeing the movies spoils IT, but I do think needful things is really underrated so if you want something totally fresh, read needful things
Needful Things is a really underrated King book. I loved it.
IT is a classic, but a longer and more complex story. No movie can do that book justice.
My recommendation would be to read both!
I thought IT was much better than Needful Things. Needful Things is like a short story expanded to the size of a novel.
