I recently found this book probably through this subreddit or another book suggestion one and wow, what a great book. I’d love to find something else that’s similar.
I really enjoyed how it featured a competent main character, and it was a bonus that he was not an anti-hero too. Though that’s not a deal breaker for me, love a good antihero. I liked that most of the problems the characters came across were solved with logic and thinking, and it didn’t feel full of tropes causing them to get into bad situations in the first place. There was great court intrigue too.
I was so pleased to find this as I have read a lot of fantasy and had never heard of this book before. Anything else out there like it?
I’ve already read ASOIAF, the First Law Trilogy, and the Goblin Emperor. I tried to get into the second Chalion book as well but it wasn’t quite hitting like the first did. Plz also do not suggest any Malazan, or Sanderson.
