This is mainly for people who read one book at a time. I also prefer reading a series in order without breaks with other books.
Whenever I read epic fantasy or something huge, it’s often nice to choose a simpler/less complex book to read next (a breather). It’s kind of a way to rejuvenate before the next big one. I still love and pay full attention to the “simpler” books.
For example :
After reading The poppy war trilogy, I read little women which was a nice wholesome and simpler read (in terms of characters to track/plot).
Or after the stormlight archive, I read flowers for Algernon (wonderful).
Anyone else do this?
If u don’t – do u find yourself more tired/exhausred by the idea of having to grasp a new huge world and cast of characters again having just left one so recently?
I don’t know if I need to keep doing this, I’ve never tried not doing it. Naturally a breather feels like a good idea. Not an issue – just curious if others do it.
