Seeking non SW or Dune Space Opera.

Hi everyone!

I usually read fantasy. But I’m Looking for a space opera style novel or series (not too long) to dive into with great characters and world building.

I do not want any Star Wars or Dune. Something I possibly haven’t heard of.

With life being what it is right now, I’d prefer a more upbeat and fun as opposed to dark but either are fine. And good pacing that isn’t too hard to get through.
