Hello. Lately I’ve been developing special interest in Ireland/Northern Ireland, and I’ve been writing a story taking place there. Although I’ve done plenty of research, I’d love to read some great novels taking place in Ireland or/and by Irish authors to get more “inside” this country and feel the atmosohere. I want to get more into culture, ordinary life, problematics, mentality, not exactly mythology. Without some romantisation, just about probably ordinary people/realism.
I would prefer realism, modern day realism, or magical realism.
But fantasy accurately reflecting Irish myths and legends would be cool too.
I’ve watched plenty of films by Irish filmmakers and read some poetry.
For reference/vibes, I love Martin McDonagh plays, and his film “Banshees of Insherin” and John Carney films.
I know it’s pretty specific, but I tend to have specific obsessions. Thank you 🙂
