I have been on a pretty major fantasy kick at the moment, but I tend to picky about the books I read. I’ve been playing a lot of D&D and want to find books that can replicant that feeling. I’m not that interested in YA or Urban Fantasy books.
I have read a Song of Ice and Fire, Lord of the Rings, The Witcher series, The Princess Bride, A Wizard of Earthsea, Die (comic), Bone by Jeff Smith, The Name of The Wind (halfway) Small Gods and the Death sub-series from Discworld. I tend to like books that are written with a lot of descriptive information and are able to quickly grasp a reader’s attention. I’m open to longer books/series but I also like one and done stories. While I do like the darker stuff at times, I’m not in the mood for the superbleak or grim fantasy at the moment.
