I’m thinking along the lines of Redwall, Watership down, Fire Bringer, Bambi, Plague Dogs, Guardians of Ga’hoole – even Whitefang, Song of the Summer King, or Animals of Farthing Wood. Sight, Fell, ect
I also have read Warrior cats, and am planning to read the Wings of Fire series soon
More looking for animals or mythological creatures as the actual main characters, and not so much books like Cujo, where its partially the animal but the ‘real’ main characters are humans – though if there are any that really stick out as good, I’m willing to get into it too
Books were the animals feature heavily are also alright to suggest. I’m reading Fourth Wing right now and while I’m not too jazzed on the NSFW parts of it, its kind of expected as an 18+ Romance fantasy book, but the dragons in that series are as much part of the main cast as their riders are
I feel like I’ve read almost all the ones I can find, so I’d really appreciate some suggestions! I prefer books that have an audio book version because I do a lot of art commissions and like to listen in the background, but older physical books are also fine!
