    I’m 20 and have worked full time since I was 16 getting my license in a specialized trade. For the most part I hate my job however some days I love it. About 2 years ago I met my soul mate who is doing her masters in philosophy atm. She has opened my eyes to a whole new world however lately I have been left feeling so overwhelmed and confused as to what I’m supposed to do with this life. Some days it just all feels futile and meaningless. I have been reading some books lately that touch on the suffering and the human condition, finishing some and still working on others, such as “Projections” by Karl Deisseroth(my favourite book ever), “The Gulag Archipelago” by Aleksander Solzhenitsyn, “On The Road” by Jack Karouac, “Man’s Search For Meaning” by Viktor E. Frankl. I’m hoping for a book to help my find my purpose and meaning in life. I absolutely loved man’s search for meaning, however I’m struggling to find the meaning. Please suggest my books that helped you find a path in life, so I can find hope for mine.

      You may like {{Shop Class as Soulcraft by Matthew B. Crawford}}

      Author is a motorcycle mechanic and a Ph.D in Philosophy.

    2. The Myth of Sisyphus, by Albert Camus. Deals with “the absurd” and meaning in a meaningless universe. Might make also a good conversation with the gf.

      On a bit of a different note, I might suggest Siddhartha by Hermann Hesse. It is a work of fiction that follows a young man’s journey to enlightenment. I felt much better about my life journey after following the life of someone who had eventually succeeded, despite it being a work of fiction. I would recommend the book if you hadn’t already read it

      Maybe try something by Jordan Petersen – Maps of Meaning or 12 Rules for Life.

      I(35M) Take a breath bud, the struggle never ends. You’re on the right track though, it’s possible to struggle less struggle less.
