I’ve got 4 hours left out of the 22hour experience and I’ve started to fear the days that I cant listen to the story anew anymore. The narrator is incredible, the story has developed these characters so well and the poetic way of writing keeps my interest piqued at the littlest things.
I love the darkness and the humor and following someone through a whole life. Like a really long This American Life episode
Books I’ve loved in the past:
After Dark by Murakami
Etgar Keret & Kafka (everything)
Nausea by Sartre
Cosmocomics by Italo Calvino
by Spaghetti_Oh_No

*David Copperfield* by Charles Dickens. I can’t remember who narrated the audiobook but I enjoyed it.
Babel by RF Kuang
Pachinko
The whole Beartown series
Hello Beautiful
This will sound off the wall, but when my son was desolate at finishing all of the Life On Mars and Ashes to Ashes TV series, I got him over his slump by introducing him to the Raffles TV series.

So I highly suggest the Raffles novels by EW Hornung – audible do them I believe. Not at all what you have asked for (althougb compelling and artfully written, for sure), but sometimes what we want is not what we need.
Prince of Tides
Lonesome Dove
The Brothers K (by David James Duncan, not Dostoyevsky)
Whoevers downvoting this post and all the comments must hate Barbara Kingsolver a tonne i guess
Thank you everyone for your suggestions!
