Hello friends,
I am looking for books that encapsulate the spirit of exploration combined with the dangers of undertaking such a journey in the 18th, 19th or early 20th century.
As a long time Jules Verne fan, I was always fascinated by the toils people subjugated themselves in adventures that seem inconcievable to the modern, comfortable life. Now I am searching for books that describe real life events relating to the perils and excitement of exploration in those times.
Books I have read that fit the description:
– Endurance by Alfred Lansing
– Madhouse at the end of the earth by Julian Sancton
– The Lost City of Z by David Grann
– The Wager by David Grann
Thank you so much!
