I wanna say I am sad, scarred and heartbroken, yet I want the story to remain in my memory forever. I can’t stop thinking about little Hassan.
As Amir was talking about other characters and their interactions with him in the beginning, I wanted him to talk more and more about Hassan. He was just a very likable character. What hurts the most is the things that happened to Hassan were repeated later. I wish Hassan had a good life.
The book it made me appreciate my parents more. World is 100x more cruel without them.
Never have I felt this overwhelmed after reading a book. I just wanted to share the feeling. I don’t know why the story hit me the way it did. But woah!
I hope Afghanistan sees a better future somewhere down the line.
