I’m writing a lyric essay about The Barbie Movie and I realized a lot of what I took away from it was informed by conversations I’ve had w other people, my own experiences, and books I’ve read/films I’ve watched/etc. There’s a lot in the movie that made me think/feel but it’s inherently capitalist, so that’s something I’m working through in the essay. I wanted to supplement it with other stories from different perspectives.
