It falls off a bit later, but the first five or so Artemis Fowl books are a perfect mix of magic, sci-fi, and action film-esque action. They are a favorite of mine…and I can’t think of anything else similar. So if anyone has any suggestions that are similar, I would love to see them. If it’s not a blend of magic and sci-fi, my preference would be for a magic-heavy series.
