I’m hoping to find something absolutely dark, perhaps mysterious, a little convoluted, spicy, eloquent… maybe even a guilty pleasure? If I’m asking for too much feel free to let me know.
I figure you guys would be able to point me in the right direction better than anyone.

I think The Kingdom Duet by Rina Kent ticks your boxes and the books are well written. You could also try Empire Series by Rina Kent ticks a few boxes. She writes dark romances most of which I fall in love with on the first sight.
