Books that are truly heartbreaking (+bonus points if it’s made u close to tears!)

i’m in need of a really good book that truly made u empathize with the characters.

so for example, a long time ago i read The Paper Menagerie (it’s a short story but you get the point), and i truly loved that story and i’ve failed to find something that has moved me like that again.

tbh i’ll read anything whether it’s a war setting, or plain romance. i just need something to satiate my desire for something sad haha

~ also this is a side note buuuuut, i want to read they both die at the end, but after seeing some reviews it’s a very mixed reaction, so if you’ve read this, please tell me ur thoughts! <3
