Hi all,
Crosspost from r/reading suggestions. I’m looking for good books for my ninety two year old granny. She’s always been a reader, but since her vision is going, we read to her now or check out books on tape for her.
Her taste:
She likes biographies, mostly about US figures. In terms of fiction, she recently read A Tree Grows In Brooklyn, and loved it. She also loves To Kill A Mockingbird and reads it every year. Other authors she has enjoyed: Hemingway, Steinbeck, Twain, and their ilk. She has already read most of the American classics, but isn’t opposed to re-reading, so feel free to shoot away.

She might like Nevil Shute (Norway). A Town Like Alice, Trustee from the Toolroom.
