I want a book about someone in their 20s losing a parent (preferably a dad, to an illness) and trying to fit in with their peers still – in the aftermath. Not really with dating but just life in general. Does that exist?
A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius – Dave Eggers. The narrator has both parents die and he has to provide a home for his younger brother. It’s post-modern so there’s some breaking of the fourth wall. I laughed, I cried, I still remember this book years later.
